Characteristics

Pressfitting_characteristics The Eurotubi pressfitting is very easy and quick to install and only uses AISI 316L stainless steel, carbon steel, cupronickel.

The fittings used in pressfitting have a toroidal chamber at their own ends inside which there's a EPDM rubber ring: this has a very strong resistance against aging, it can resist to high pressures and also to temperatures higher than 110 degrees.

In the Eurotubi pressfitting, special electromechanical jaws give a strain to the toroidal chamber and are used for pressing the fittings on the tubes. The O-ring, once compressed, guarantees a coupling which is perfectly sealing compound and no longer divisible.

Advantages of Pressfitting

  • Best solution for pressfitting
  • Compatible of pressfitting
  • Easy and quick way of laying
  • Hydrothermosanitary applications
  • Eurotubi long-term experience
  • Low cost of labour
  • No gluing
  • pressfitting made by best material
  • Reliability of the joints
  • Resistance to corrosion
  • Security of hygiene
Nowadays the Eurotubi pressfitting of cold pressing with stainless steel tubes and fittings represents the most modern and reliable solution within hydrothermosanitary applications. The stainless steel is certainly the best material in security of hygiene compared with others such as plastic, iron and copper and can provide a high resistance to corrosion.

The pressfitting system combines the extreme reliability of the joints with the easy and quick way of laying as it does not need any gluing, threading or welding. As a consequence, the major costs of material are fully balanced by the extremely low cost of labour.

Thanks to the long-term experience within the field of steel workings, Eurotubi is now able to provide a competitiveness beyond comparison. The Eurotubi pressfitting is also compatible with the other most important brands of fittings on the market.

Pressing tools

In the pressfitting, the process of pressing is made by electromechanical tools, having jaws whose diameter shall correspond to the one of the fitting to be used. Eurotubi pressfitting is compatible with any pressing tool which is equipped with jaws like Mapress®. As a consequence, it is possible to use tools of several brands such as Novopress and Klauke which have been tested by Eurotubi successfully. A correct cleaning of the jaws pressing profile is recommended by using a degreasing product.

The Eurotubi pressfitting is ideal for domestic water as well as for industrial and naval installations.

Thanks to the high standards of stainless steel quality and reliability, Eurotubi pressfitting is the perfect solution for drinkable water and sanitary systems.

It is also recommended for heating, conditioning, hydraulic cooling, fire-prevention as well as for compressed air systems.
Pressfitting - applications

The laying of the Eurotubi pressfitting is extremely easy and quick. Following pictures show the right steps for the correct assembling of the system.

pressfitting installation - 1 - cutting Step 1
Cut the pipes using suitable tools that will avoid the risk of buckling. For example, the machine oxygen cutting and the use of a disc grinding wheel are not recommended.
pressfitting installation - 2 - sdeburring Step 2
Carefully deburr the pipe, both internally and externally, as a possible residual burr could damage the O-ring and compromise the connection tightness.
pressfitting installation - 3 - o-ring checking Step 3
Check the correct position of the O-ring inside the toroidal chamber and lubricate it with water or soap. Do not use oil or grease at all.
pressfitting installation - 4 - insertion Step 4
Put the pipe into the fitting and push it through a slight rotation until it's complete stop.
pressfitting installation - 5 - marking Step 5
Fix the correct position between them using a marking pen in order to see possible movements before pressing.
pressfitting installation - 6 - providing the pressing tool Step 6
Provide the pressing tool with the suitable jaw corresponding the diameter of the fitting to be pressed. For more details, please refer to the specific manual of the pressing tool.
pressfitting installation - 7 - setting pressing tool Step 7
Set the pressing tool in a correct way so that the toroidal chamber is inside the proper housing of the jaw.
pressfitting installation - 8 - pressing Step 8
Carry out the pressing process until the jaw-halves come in contact.
pressfitting installation - 9 - after pressing Once pressed, the fitting guarantees both the stiffness of the whole system and the perfect tightness of the O-ring. Connections are now no longer divisible and resist against high stress.

The quality of used materials, constant sealing and duration tests and the adoption of a rigorous quality control allowed Eurotubi pressfitting to obtain the conformity with the strictest European certifications.

pressfitting Stainless steel AISI 316L

The Eurotubi pressfitting in stainless steel is the ideal solution for installing drinking water systems as the AISI 316L stainless steel used is completely hygienic and highly corrosion resistant. Its reliable, high-quality components also make it suitable for heating, cooling, compressed air and fire-extinguishing systems in the civil, industrial and marine sectors.

The o-ring gaskets, made of black EPDM, are resistant to aging, heat and chemical additives and are therefore particularly suitable for all types of treated water.

Conditions of use
- Maximum operating pressure: 16 bar
- Operating temperature: -20 °C +85 °C
- Maximum temperature: 120 °C

Certifications
The Eurotubi pressfitting have been certified for drinking water use by a great many national and international authorities.
Notably, it far exceeds the demanding quality requirements of the German Standard DVGW W534.

pressfitting Stainless steel GAS

The Eurotubi pressfitting is approved in several European countries for use in gas distribution systems, with external above-ground pipes, running inside or outside buildings. It can be used for all types of combustible gas, both natural and liquid.

The o-ring gaskets are made of yellow HNBR, and as such, are compatible with any of the gas varieties used and are resistant to aging and heat.

With Eurotubi pressfitting GAS, thanks to the use of different fittings, modifications and repairs of existent installations can be effected. For these operations it is advisable to pay attention, especially when verifying that the external surfaces are perfect and undamaged.

Conditions of use
- Maximum operating pressure: 5 bar
- Operating temperature: -20 °C +70 °C

Certification
The Eurotubi pressfitting have been certified as conforming to the German Standard DVGW VP614 for gas applications.
To conform to this standard, each of the welded fittings, complete with o-ring gaskets, undergoes a special helium test.
These fittings have a yellow label with the initials “PN5”, or equivalent yellow point, to indicate their application.
